Additional Learning Support for Adults
If you have a disability, learning difficulty or health condition, we offer a wide range of support to help you succeed in your studies.
You can tell us about any additional support needs before enrolling or at any point during your course.
Our experienced Additional Learning Support (ALS) team will assess your requirements and work with you to identify the most appropriate type of support. We may ask for additional information or evidence to ensure we can provide support in the most effective way.
Once assessed, the support available can take many forms and may include:
- Adapted learning materials
- Assistive technology and specialist equipment
- Pastoral support
- In-class support or one-to-one sessions
- Learning support workshops
- Referrals to external agencies, where appropriate
We aim to provide individually tailored support to help you overcome barriers, build resilience and work towards becoming an independent student.
We provide support for a wide range of learning needs, disabilities and health conditions, including:
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Autism Spectrum Conditions
- Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia and Dyspraxia
- Hearing Impairment
- Mental Health Conditions
- Physical Disabilities
- Visual Impairments
- Specific learning difficulties and other disabilities
