Alcohol Awareness (Level 1/Award)
Course description
Alcohol is a prominent commodity in the UK marketplace. It is widely used in numerous social situations.
This course is designed for individuals wanting to support your own health and wellbeing and/or wanting to support others with alcohol concerns. This course can support individuals interested in developing knowledge and understanding as part of your work role in a range of different sectors; or those who have been out of education or work for a while and are looking to gain new knowledge and skills.
The course explores alcohol and the impact this can have on an individual and society. You will also consider the treatments relating to alcohol withdrawal. The course is delivered over four days and you must be able to attend every session in order to successfully complete this qualification.
The course units you will study:
- Unit 1: Know about differences in unit strengths.
- Unit 2: Know the possible causes of alcohol misuse.
- Unit 3: Recognise some of the physical and psychological effects of alcohol misuse.
- Unit 4: Be aware of the effects that alcohol misuse can have on others.
- Unit 5: Be aware of the health issues associated with alcohol misuse.
- Unit 6: Recognise the effects of withdrawing from alcohol.
- Unit 7: Know some of the agencies offering help and information about alcohol misuse.
