Course description
This nationally recognised NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism is designed for You who want to develop your knowledge of autism and gain a recognised qualification. It is suitable for anyone with an interest in autism, including those looking to support autistic individuals in your personal or professional lives.
Throughout the course, You will develop an understanding of autism, explore person-centred approaches to supporting autistic individuals, communication and social interaction, sensory processing, positive behaviour support, and ways to support autistic individuals to live healthy and fulfilled lives.
You will also develop an understanding of the importance of recognising and valuing the strengths, individuality and lived experiences of autistic people.
The course covers the following mandatory units:
- Introduction to Autism
- Using a Person-Centred Approach to Support Autistic Individuals
- Communication and Social Interaction in Autistic Individuals
- Sensory Processing, Perception and Cognition in Autistic Individuals
- Supporting Positive Behaviour in Autistic Individuals
- Supporting Autistic Individuals to Live Healthy and Fulfilled Lives
You must be able to attend every session in order to successfully complete this qualification.
